Waffle Queen Wookies Review
May 17, 2020
Sarah grew up baking with her mother. When she passed away, Sarah decided to live out their shared passion. Her start was in 2018 when she wanted a way to make money for donations after a hurricane. When it was successful, she decided to continue! She also owns @wafflequeencafe where she makes protein waffles. Wookie barks are available on her website as well for your pup to enjoy! She does almost everything herself, so each wookie is made with care!
•Now you’re probably wondering “What in the heck is a wookie?“ Well it’s a cookie that gets baked in a waffle iron!
🍪 𝗙𝗼𝗸𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝗣𝗕&𝗝🥜🍓•5.5 oz Brown sugar cookie dough infused with @fokkennuts peanut butter. Filled with strawberry jelly and topped with more Fokken PB and roasted peanuts.• I’ve never had Fokken PB before, but I feel like I should now! This was a soft cookie that was very sweet and had a strong peanut flavor. It left a sweet aftertaste as well, which was more sweetness than I personally care for. The bites with the jelly tasted very good! I was looking for a lot more jelly than I got so as to match the name of the cookie. 7.2/10
🍪𝙇𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙣 𝙋𝙤𝙥𝙥𝙮𝙨𝙚𝙚𝙙 🍋•5.1 oz A soft lemon dough with poppyseeds, white chocolate chips, and pastel chips mixed in. Topped with a white chocolate and lemon glaze as well as a lemon KitKat.• The light lemon flavor paired well with the white chocolate. I thought this cookie was delicious! You could eat the whole cookie without getting a stomach ache! It’s perfect for summer! 9/10🔥
🍪 𝐁𝐥𝐮𝐞𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐌𝐮𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐧 •5.2 oz Jiffy mix blueberry dough. White chocolate and pastel chips mixed in. Topped with vanilla drizzle and a Trolls Oreo.• While most wookies have a gooey or soft base, this was a more firm one. At first bite, it was extremely sweet. I did not enjoy this cookie unfortunately and the Oreo on top did not tie into the blueberry theme in my opinion. Perhaps the fact that I don’t like Jiffy mix is why this one was not a winner for me. 2/10
🍪 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐩 •5.1 oz Brown sugar dough with Apple Crisp Poptarts, White chocolate chips, and caramel bits mixed in. Filled with cinnamon apples. Topped with a vanilla drizzle, cinnamon graham crackers, and sprinkles.• Between the tasty, chewy base and the delicious filling, this wookie did it for me. The filling reminds me of apple pie! The caramel got stuck in my teeth, which bothered me a bit, but that was only a couple of bites. I enjoyed it chilled in the fridge first. 9.2/10
🍪 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐏𝐢𝐞 •5.1 oz Banana cream dough with white chocolate chips and vanilla wafers mixed in. Topped with banana cream pudding and crushed vanilla wafers.• I LOVED this one and it was my favorite overall! It’s a soft base with a strong banana flavor. I didn’t notice cream on top, so it probably soaked into the cookie. I have no complaints about that though because @stellaciousness and I are obsessed with this wookie! I ate it faster than I care to admit😅 9.5/10
I was confused when I first saw a wookie, but I’m glad I gave them a try! Not every flavor was a winner for me, but others left a great impression with me. I’d love to try some chocolate wookies in the future. This is a fun spin on the classic cookie and there are new flavors each month along with some of the year-round options.
